Serving the Servant: Bea Leff needs her community

Lemme tell you about my friend, Bea.

See that joy on her face? That's ALWAYS there. It's just her, spreading the good vibes and the love wherever she goes.

Bea has spent her life in the service of others. Whether it was offering a sympathetic ear and friendly smile to her collegues in her office or spending over twenty years in chaplaincy and leadership at her spiritual community, Unity of Music City, Bea's presence in a space always means somebody cares. No one is invisible, no one goes without love or steady guidance when Bea is around.

There's no shortage of laughter in Bea's orbit, either. Some of my best memories of Unity of Music City were spent cutting up and acting like silly, giggling kids with Bea.

She's one of those people that makes anyone she speaks to feel important, feel seen, feel loved, feel at home. I owe a lot to this lady. She's been instrumental in my journey toward healing and wholeness.

Now, it is Bea's turn to be healed. Bea is currently in treatment for cancer and needs help with paying for deductibles and coinsurance. Bea is optimistic about her recovery, believing the doctors' assessments that current treatments will eradicate the cancer.

Though everyone is sure Bea will show cancer who is boss, the bills cannot be beaten with spirit and tenacity alone.

That's why I've organized this fundraiser. Bea has given so much to the people in her world, truly made an impact in immeasurable ways. I know there are so many folks out there who have been positively impacted by her presence and if each person gave what they could, even if it were only a little, it could allow Bea to dedicate all her concentration to healing and wellness. The impact of even a small donation could have a direct effect on her ability to relax and heal.

As so many of us have been blessed by her; her chaplaincy, her music, her laughter, her guiding and healing presence... So let her be blessed by the community that she served so well.
