Set up a permanent home for Lured Bake Shop!

Hi, I'm Annelise and I'm fundraising to help open a permanent Wolfe Island location for my micro-bakery!
The Backstory:
Back in 2017 along with my best pal Caitlin, we opened Fishtale Shop on Wolfe Island. I was still working as a photographer as my side hustle while we got the business up and running. Fast forward to January of 2020 and we move the shop into a year-round location. As we are ready to open in our new location two things happen at once: we go into lockdowns and my photography gig hits a brick wall when I can't see clients in person.
Then in 2021 It was suggested that I just set up a little booth part-time at the farmers market. I thought I'd try maybe once a month... but it turned out to be an amazing thing. I was being creative in a form I could share with many and everyone seemed to love what I was baking up- the support and love for what I was doing sort of saved me. I didn't think something that I loved doing for creativity and stress release would end up becoming part of a new dream.
Cut to today:
Here we are, pounds of flour later and quite a few markets under my belt, and I'm looking to the future. Lots of people have asked where they can find me over the winter or more than just on Saturdays and I would love to make this an everyday thing. A spot where people can come and enjoy a treat with a friend, pick up something to take home and share or something to bake up for later.
After some dreaming and brainstorming Caitlin and I realized we already know where Lured Bake Shop should be: in our existing store. We can see people sitting on our wrap around porch sipping cold brew or having a popsicle on a hot day. I can see people laughing and relaxing together on our big comfy couch... with a scone!
So here I am now, stepping wayyy outside of my comfort zone and asking for help. With the way the last few years have gone (pandemic, summers of no ferry service to the village, pivoting until we’re dizzy…) ‘conventional’ means of supporting this project are not something I have access to. So without help I feel that this is a dream that could never be realized.
Please help me make my dream come true. It’s not only a dream of having just one job, in one place, with my best friend on the island we love. It’s a dream of continuing to build a space where people gather, where supporting local comes first. To bake and cook with real ingredients and share that with you all.
As this gofundme progresses I’ll post updates here with how things are progressing and what we’ve been up to. I hope to have things up and running as quickly as possible at least in a small capacity and keep working and expanding things as we go.
Thank you!
With so much love and gratitude,
Annelise
