Seth Miller Spinal Injury Recovery Fund

I, Amber Miller-Saxhaug, Seth Miller's aunt am writing this GoFundMe for him and his mother's behalf. He was bouldering with his grandparents on Tuesday, October 18th in southern Indiana at Muscatatuck Park. He had finished his last climb for the day and was looking for the path down when the rock under his foot broke loose, and he fell. He was taken by an air ambulance from that location to an Indianapolis hospital and placed in ICU with a spinal injury and head trauma. He was placed on a ventilator, had two drainage ports inserted in his lungs, and multiple IV lines. After numerous tests and images were conducted, it was learned that he had a traumatic T7 spinal injury. He underwent spinal surgery on Wednesday, October 19th. The surgeon stabilized his spinal cord with two metal rods and 12 screws. The result of the fall has left Seth paralyzed from his t7 vertebrae, a T7 paraplegic. Post-surgery, he had drain tubes inserted at the surgical site and remained in ICU. As of Friday, October 28th, he was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital where he will learn how to utilize a wheelchair and manage everyday tasks which were once automatic. He turned 17 on October 13th, the week prior. He plays hockey for Hamilton Southeastern Schools. He also enjoys working out, swimming, rock climbing and is involved in his church youth group at Fishers United Methodist Church. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, as well as relearning how to adapt to his new abilities. As part of his family, I am asking for prayers for him. This GoFundMe is set up to help offset some of the medical bills and the necessary changes to his house, so when he is able, he can go home.
