My high school sweetheart, Ramona, and I have been married for nearly six years. From the moment that I met her, I knew she was special. There were so many things that had attracted me to her. Her sense of humor, her laugh, her smile, but the most beautiful thing was her ability to love.
Ramona was raised in a big family; she was the youngest of 8 siblings, which meant that she had many nieces and nephews. Watching her interaction and unconditional love towards them was a scope into the type of mother she would be. I had no doubt in my mind the amount of love she had stored away for her own children, someday.
From day one, we knew that our greatest goal in life together was to start a family. After our first year of marriage, we had decided that it was time to start. This was so exciting to even think about. We had created a list of potential names for the many children we were going to have. We had painted a picture in our minds of what our life would be like with our own little bundle of joy. Unfortunately, life threw us a curveball.
Over the past 5 years, we have struggled with infertility. Ramona was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) which has left us unable to concieve a child of our own. The journey has been filled with heartbreak and tears. How could the thing we wanted most in life be the very thing we could not have?? It didn't seem fair. For years, we watched our friends and family experience the joys of pregnancy, after many failed attempts of our own. With each failed pregnancy test, we would mourn the loss of the beautiful picture we had painted in our minds. It has been the most difficult and trying time of our lives, however, our hope remains.
We have always considered the option of adopting a child, but have been steered away due to the steep cost of adoption. With both of our personalitiies and our ability to love, adoption seems like the most perfect fit for us. Maybe this has been God's plan for our family all along. With all of this said, we are unable to do this on our own. We need the support of all of our family and friends to help us start our family. Would you consider donating towards our miracle?
