Seth Steiner Medical and Living Expenses

On Sunday June 26th, Seth was out at Tanana Lakes in Fairbanks- enjoying a beautiful sunny day with friends. Like many others there playing and boating in the water- Seth took a dive in. After resurfacing, his friends realized something was wrong and his best friend quickly acted, saving him from drowning, and brought him to shore... Seth had injured his neck and couldn’t feel his legs.
By the time an ambulance got Seth to the hospital, he was slowly losing feeling throughout much of his body up to his chest. Fairbanks, Alaska hospitals aren’t equipped to treat a trauma this severe, so he was quickly flown to Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
It was during treatment and surgery there, that doctors discovered his C5 and C6 vertebrae were crushed and needed to be rebuilt and fused. The biggest concern however was over the state of his spinal cord inside… and it did receive some injury.
Seth currently requires a breathing tube and has no feeling or movement in his body. He has another surgery coming soon and this is looking to be a long road to recovery. A journey full of uncertainty, for someone so young still.
Thank you for your love and prayers!
