Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors,
What an emotional roller coaster this year this has been. After 10 years of business at 1550 Hyde Street, we finally made the big leap into our 1896 Hyde location. We went through growing pains as we stretched out into the new space, and found our footing with our strong staff and faithful community following. This global crisis has forced us to close our doors leaving our 35 employees without a job. As we all know our restaurant community is experiencing extreme hardship and uncertainty.
Taking care of the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and our customers is our number one priority. We have made a commitment to our team to ensure we meet our financial coverage of their health insurance through this difficult time.
I fear without asking for support this goal is out of my reach. In addition, while Mayor Breed has ensured no evictions will take place in the coming months by deferring rents to future dates, we will still be responsible for the full amount at both locations. Bills just keep coming in. I have leveraged everything I can to meet these costs, It pains me to ask for help. Our dream of two restaurants in the neighborhood has left us in a precarious situation due to this unforeseen crisis.
In order to do this, we need your help. If you are able, please donate no matter how big or small, every dollar is appreciated.
This campaign will go towards:
- health insurance
- rent
- reopening costs
Thank you to everyone for the incredible outpouring of support from our community, it gives us so much hope for the future. We can't wait to open backup and see everyone again! Hopefully stronger than ever.
Thank You for Supporting Us,
Alexis Solomou
