Severe Flooding Demolished Mom's Home

Hi, My name is Lauren and I am raising money on behalf of my Mom, Kelly Bailey who is now homeless because of severe flooding in her home. The weekend of July 4th my Mom came home, opened her front door, and watched in shock as her cats swam out of her house. Due to the heavy rains her house flooded with 3 ft of water. She began cleaning the mud and water out of her home, but the continued rain & flooding made it impossible to begin to repair the damages. My Mom worked very hard and overcame many obstacles to purchase her home. When she signed her mortgage she was promised that all issues with the Beaver Creek dam in her town had been resolved, and although she was in a flood zone, there was nothing for her to be concerned about. Now, she is homeless with no help from her Insurance, her Home Owners Association, or the City. All the while she still has to pay the mortgage on her home that is completely demolished. My Mom is on disability with a limited income and needs to find a safe place to live while we work to salvage what is left of her home. We anticipate that this process could take at least a year and ask Friends, Family, & Kind hearted individuals to donate enough money for her to be able to rent an apartment for the duration of one year so that she can get back on her feet, and live the peaceful life she has earned.
