Donation protected
Hello Community!
Thank you for being so interested in our page. We, Seward Park cheer, appreciate your love and support. We need your help to support our journey this season! Last year, we MADE HISTORY as the FIRST ever team to qualify at our campus, and we hope to do it again this year! Please consider donating to help fund our cheer program.
How you can help
By donating to our program, you can help support our cheer program for the 2022-23 season as we aim to reach Nationals in February 2023. Here, they will continue the legacy of promoting positive school culture, spirit and leadership. We were the second public high school in NYC to EVER qualify for Nationals and the FIRST campus school in Manhattan. This was a monumental moment for our program. Without your love and support, our program can not continue this year due to the high cost of the sport.
Estimated Cost per athlete:
- UCA Summer Camp - $295
- Camp attire - $200
- Cheer Shoes - $35
- Varsity Uniform - $250 (only new athletes)
- UCA Cheer Nationals - $1,000
Total per athlete: $1,780
Additional Costs include:
- Cheer equipment
- Travel expenses (local)
- Competition Fees
Any donation of any kind is greatly appreciated. We invite you to read below to learn more about us and consider donating to help our journey to Nationals 2023!
Who are we?
We are a team of dedicated athletes in NYC and one of the only high school cheer programs in Manhattan, NYC. We welcome a diverse group of individuals from the campus community. Our primary responsibility is to increase prosocial behavior and school culture by supporting the school's varsity basketball team in the fall, hosting school-based events, participating in local competitions, and promoting positive school spirit.
During our 2022 season, we filmed a mini-series to document our journey to nationals for the first time. Special thank you to our production team, On Her Turf, NBC Sports and Peacock for premiering our story.

Cheerleading is still not recognized as a sport in NYC and, as a result, does not receive any athletic school-based designated funding. So we need your help to continue serving our young athletes. By participating in our program, young people have an opportunity to develop their social-emotional skills and leadership through non-traditional sports and movement. Our program aims to become a part of the programming at Social Skills in Motion, private therapy practice and social-emotional development program founded by our coach. At Social Skills in Motion, the primary focus is on social-emotional well-being through sports and movement-based activities and therapy.

A little History…
Our current athletes join a legacy of other cheerleaders that have come before them from their high school campus. They continue the legacy of supporting positive school culture, spirit, pride and leadership. Our team has been home to more than 70+ athletes thus far and continues to inspire and motivate young people to be engaged in academics, school community, service and leadership. Now, our 2022-23 team is embarking on their journey to receive qualifying BID to nationals in 2023. We hope to continue to set records for our community!

2021 Finding out we qualified for Nationals of the FIRST time
About 4 years ago, our team brought the first ever mascot and pep rally to our campus community. With the support from UCA camp, our athletes can kick start their leadership and spirit leading with learning the essentials to continue bringing our community a Spirit Pep Rally! COVID made this challenging during the school year, with limited ability to have crowds in the stands. Going into this new school year, we will be bringing back this tradition to support the school spirit on our campus.
We emphasize leadership and service on our team. In the past, we’ve hosted community cheer clinics with local schools and community agencies to introduce the sport of cheer to young people. This is just one example of one community service event we’ve done as a team. At UCA Camp, our athletes are introduced to pinning it forward, where we acknowledge leaders and servers within the camp community. We bring this spirit back to our campus and the local community.

Kicking off our cheer season, we joined teams from around the Northeast at the Pine Forest Cheerleading Camp. Our team earned their FIRST-ever TOP BANANA, the coveted spirit award given to only 1 team per night. Like many firsts for our team, we were overwhelmed with pride and excitement! Their hard work and dedication make them unstoppable!

Our senior athletes were awarded and recognized as All-American Cheerleaders, joining a legacy of other Seward Athletes that stand before them. They will now have the opportunity to march in parades around the country & in London this winter. This is a HUGE accomplishment for these athletes because they are recognized for their skills in cheer, leadership, and spirit! They are examples of why the world needs cheerleaders.
Stay tuned for more updates!
