Seychelles Pet Haven (for dogs)

Hello,

As many of you know, we are spending some time with family in the Seychelles during 2022/23.

Like many others, I have a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. It has always been my goal to help at the local shelter here in the Seychelles. The shelter is located on the beautiful main island (Mahe). When I arrived at the shelter, it was both wonderful and very sad. There are so many dogs and puppies who have been rescued - some have been badly treated, others have been living on the street and brought to the shelter in a very bad way.

The very kind ladies at the shelter show these creatures so much love and affection but are run off their feet in the scorching heat whilst they try their very best to care for these animals, hoping they find their forever homes one day. They run the shelter solely on donations which enables them to provide the dogs with food and water. However, there are a lot of basic provisions we would love to be able to provide to give the animals a better quality of life/care and would be gratefully received by these wonderful ladies. We would love to be able to raise money to help provide the shelter with a puppy pen so that the babies can come out of their crates and have some playtime in a safe environment.
