San Francisco Design Week presents: Sanctuary- An Opening Night Artist Installation by LOCZIdesign
LOCZIdesign has partnered with Heavy Projects, CULT | Aimee Friberg Exhibitions , Props2c and Keyframe-Entertainment to bring San Francisco Design Week visitors an augmented reality immersive installation exploring San Francisco Design Week's Opening night reception on June 14th at Pier 27.
The goal - Enliven the senses of 1000's attendees by paying tribute to activists, visionaries and to a city that provides Sanctuary to all. These artists have generously donated their time and creativity to help this installation come to fruition.
Now we need your help to raise the money for these artists. Our campaign mission is to raise $7,500 to help with material costs and installation costs the night of. This project is being produced by LOCZIdesign and donated to San Francisco design Week which is produced by the non-profit AIGA San Francisco a 501c3

Before entering the space, you're encouraged to interact with the art, displaying an 'alternate view' by Heavy Projects confirming that there is no such thing as a fixed perspective.
As you enter the building, you'll be lulled by an immersive visual and auditory experience created by Can Buykukberber, a Pier 9 artist in residence.
In line with San Franciscan values, the art structure we're creating is a 5' concrete covered fist, based on a bronze cast by artist Rhonda Holberton. Our piece, a West Coast reference to New York's Fearless Girl , will embody the spirit of our great city. As the fist breaks through a glass ceiling. each finger will be inscribed to inspire you.
Once through the tunnel, you'll be encouraged to ponder that which you've seen as well as what you're giving rise to. Rhonda Holberton's work asks: To whom do you give reverence and what is your practice? Who are we as a community, and as a city, as we honor those who have come before. And lastly, what happens next...
We value being a part of the San Francisco creative community, and we hope you'll join us in making this multidisciplinary project a reality! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on June 14th and beyond.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
To make this project a reality, we hosted a pre-party fundraiser to acquire funds, but we still need your help! Thanks to generous contributions, we've already raised $2700 of our goal!
Our campaign mission:
It's our goal to raise $7500 for the following:
1. rental of servers and projectors for opening reception
2. materials and labor to create the 5 foot concrete fist sculpture
To meet these costs, we've created a list of tiers that include a signed book, a curated Dinner in the Bay Area, studio visits and more. If SFDW's goal to celebrate not just design itself, but the communities, people and issues that continually change the way we understand design resonate with you, please consider making a donation of your choosing.
