Help me, an ex-employee, fight against Met Police failures
Donation protected
Hi,
due to many laws and confidential agreements I can not go into the ins and outs sadly. even though i wish i could have a voice to shout from the rooftops what i have endured for the last 1-2 years at my work place.
i worked at the Met Police between 2020-2024 and reported a colleague as i witnessed them make extremely concerning racist, misogynistic and sexist comments (commenting on females saying they were sluts, immigrants should go back home etc and much worse) aswell as deciding to follow my journey home.
they were investigated for gross misconduct and were dismissed.
however they appealed and won and have since been back working as normal again.
they won the appeal because the decision maker believes it is too harsh to dismiss them and that everyone deserves a second chance. they believe that you can work for an emergency service with any beliefs you want (doesn’t matter if they are harmful or not) but that when they turn into behaviours then that’s an issue. They also said that the original panel was too harsh and ‘emotionally irrational’ when dismissing (the panel was 2/3s women). I argued vocalising and following a colleague home is crossing the line between beliefs and behaviour.
ever since i have tried to escalate my concerns as the head of the department has welcomed back this member of staff putting members of public at risk and fellow staff.
i have been diagnosed with PTSD and have been treated very badly throughout. never notified about what is going on unless i drag it out of someone. departments saying they will look into this serious matter but then when i chase no one knows what im talking about. i have even just found out that he can return to my office very soon so it was all for nothing and no one was going to tell me this, i had to find out myself.
so i have now taken it to court. an amazing barrister wants to help me and he is a very good one who i believe can win my case and has since been in the mainstream news for winning many legal suits and wants to help me.
however with a great lawyer comes great expense. I also had no other choice but to resign as the force refused to pay me sick pay whilst I was mentally unwell from this situation and failed to support me.
i have also since found out that my report of concerns that I submitted after I met the Director, was intentionally buried for 15 weeks and sat on.
I have created a blog that documents my whole journey and due to the emotional and mental stress I endured for 2 years I can not work currently.

i appreciate anyone who read this far and has shown support to me.
i am a shell of the person I was 2 years ago but i now have hope that this lawyer can get me answers and also hold the organisation to account and get justice for the members of public it serves and has a duty of care to.
i was so chuffed when i got this job, and it became a living nightmare.
any donations are so greatly appreciated.
