Help with paying for nighttime hospice caregiver

Hi. My name is Leslie Kovacs, and I am helping our family raise funds to pay for the costs of a nighttime caregiver for my father, Glenn Dobbs, who is in hospice at our home and is requiring around-the-clock care. He is bedridden. The above photo was taken on May 28th, and he has significantly declined.

My 85-year-old mother and my sister, Patti, are caring for him (my brother and I make up the rest of the team), but we need someone to take the night shift as we are each dealing with our own health concerns and extreme sleep deprivation.

He has multiple issues that have put him into hospice, including rapidly deteriorating heart damage, kidney and bladder damage from too many UTIs in the past six months, a broken hip, dementia and abnormal weight loss. My parents live on a fixed income and cannot pay for a facility for this care. Dad has been a gifted songwriter, part of the "Grandma Honey and Papa Glenn" storytellers at Gizdich Apple Farm, and the musical storytimes at various branches of the Santa Cruz Public Library system alongside my mother, Lillian. He has led worship at some churches in the county and drove a bus for the Santa Cruz METRO, in addition to being a father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, surrogate parent, friend, co-worker, etc.

We are calling on friends and family to help with these extra costs so that he can receive the care he needs and mom and Patti can get the rest they need to continue caring for him. Mom is such a loving, caring person; she could use some care right now!
