Sgt. Daniel Baker

One of my good friends Sgt. Daniel Baker lost his life too soon early this morning on May 30th, 2018. Sgt. Baker was responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle, dispatch then lost contact with him causing them to send backup. When they arrived, sadly and with heavy hearts, Sgt. Baker was found shot to death.   Sgt. Baker left behind his wife, beautiful daughter, family, and many friends. They had recently just purchase a new home and Daniel was clearing the property and getting ready to build a garage. No amount of money will help ease the pain for family and friends but I would like to start a fund to help his wife with any and all expenses that might arrive now or in the future for their sweet baby girl,continue to build the garage that he wants for his wife, and help with the mortgage of the new home.  If you are unable to help with donations, we just ask if you could take a few minutes and pray for everyone involved in this tragedy and pass it along. Sgt. Baker’s  work here on earth is done, we shall take it from here. Thank you for all of your sacrifices and services,  we love and miss you dearly. There are many stories that all of ours friends would be able to tell about Daniel, as he never met a stranger. He is one of the most courageous, loving, and hard working man I know and He would be the first to volunteer or help someone out. With that being said, I know how strong of a community we are in Dickson/Nashville and lets come together in this time of need and give his wife and daughter the support we are capable of.

I am a close friend of Daniel’s and all proceeds will go to his wife. I plan to keep this page open for 30 days and then will deliver proceeds to her.


Update: The generosity of people from all over has been absolutely incredible so far. So far we have raised just over 50k dollars and we can not thank you all enough. We want to continue to pray for everyone involved during this tragic time. Lets keep sharing and supporting the Baker family, as the goal is just a number and all proceeds will be donated with love to Daniel’s wife and sweet daughter.

Sgt. Baker’s wife(Lisa): I would like to thank everyone for the outpouring support, and the unrelentless focus on our grieving. My husband, Sgt. Daniel Baker meant more than everything to me and Meredith. You have shown me that the community loved and respected our sacrifice. We have traveled a heavy road, and unbeknownst to us the end was not our expectation. I have not concluded how I should feel, but I know that I hurt. In these trying times we respect your effort, and hope that you would uphold his legacy. Daniel loved everyone no matter what, and proudly gave his life to those that didn’t. I want to thank those that matter, for respecting our privacy and not making a show of our ultimate sacrifice. I will forever cherish the memories, and those that we didn’t get to share.
