Sgt. Jason Block
Donation protected
In February of 2025 Sergeant Jason Block, of the MN Department of Corrections, suffered a medical incident that resulted in a stroke, a bleed in his brain and a two-week hospital stay. This is very similar to what happened in 2024. He is now unable to return to work until possibly February of 2026.
Unfortunately, Jason has exhausted his FMLA, sick time, and vacation time. We were hoping that, maybe this time, Jason would be approved for assistance from the state. Due to circumstances outside his control, that assistance is not happening.
Jason is again faced with paying for his bills, daily expenses and now his insurance premiums ($850+/mo) out of pocket with only Long-term disability to live on.
Currently, Jason is going through extensive testing. X-rays, CT scans, PET scans, lumbar punctures, and dozens of MRIs just to name a few. He is even scheduled to undergo a form of chemotherapy to try and treat his condition.
And still, we have no concrete answers.
Jason’s doctors have again offered a variety of theories on his condition ranging from cancer to rare genetic disorders.
None of the theories end well for him.
Any and all funds donated to Sgt. Jason Block will largely be used to pay these unexpected insurance premiums as well as any other expenses that pop up.
Jason, along with his friends and family, thank you for any and all assistance you can provide.
