Sgt. Matt Dillman Pancreatic Cancer Fundraiser

Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 25 President Sergeant Matthew Dillman has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is undergoing aggressive treatments and must travel from central Pennsylvania to New Jersey on a weekly basis.

Matt is 42 years old, married and has a very young daughter. He continues to work when he is feeling well enough to do so. He has been using FMLA leave when he’s ill or has to travel.

This diagnosis and treatments have put a great financial strain on Matt and his family. Our Lodge has organized many fundraisers to help offset some of these costs, but any and all help is welcome and that is why we are reaching out to the GoFundMe community.

Seargent Dillman started his career in 2001 with the Ashland Police Department. Since then, he worked 13 years for the Mount Carmel Police Department, 3 years with the Butler Township Police Department and 2 years with the Girardville Police Department. Matt currently is currently employed full-time with the Hegins Township Police Department and part-time with Ashland and the Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Office. He as also worked with members of the Pa Office of Attorney General; Bureau of Narcotics Investigations the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force, and was a member of the Northumberland/Montour Drug Task Force.

Former Chief of the Mount Carmel Police Department and current Northumberland Sheriff’s Deputy, Todd Owens, stated “he exemplified the morals and values of what a Police Officer should be and what it means to be a public servant”. He went on to say “Matt strived to give 110% during his investigations and to see justice for the victims”. While working at the Mount Carmel PD, Matt spearheaded the Borough’s Community Watch Group and sponsored Safe Halloween and Christmas Parties for the children of the community.
