Shabbington Village Football Post & Play Equipment

Hi, my name is Richard Smith, and I am the chairman of the Parish Council in Shabbington, a little village with around 200 families, a pub and a playground called the Millenium Field.

At the beginning of the year, our playground equipment got vandalised, and also we had to replace some other items that failed a safety inspection. On top of that, we had to replace the safety surface, which added to an eye-watering £25,000, leaving our bank balance empty.

Sadly our football posts were damaged beyond repair and cannot be used. We are trying to raise funds to replace them, as we used all our funds to fix the playground equipment. Now everyone can come to the Millenium field and enjoy the swings and slides, but can't play football.

The football posts were used not just by the village but kids from the surrounding villages. Kids would ride in from Thame and Ickford because we had full-size goalposts and nets!! We would love to see that again and maybe get a village squad up and running!

Any extra donations will help us improve the village playground facilities so everyone can enjoy the Millenium field.
