Shae's Transition

Hi everyone. Many of you will know that I've already socially transitioned, and I've never been happier in my self-expression. I feel like myself... for the most part.

Everyone in the Scottish trans community knows how long the Sandyford waiting list is, and I'm one of those people who have been on it for around 3 years and haven't heard anything from them. This has prompted me to go private after around a year of consideration.

The cost of seeing someone to "approve" that I am the gender I say I am is around £300 because I'll need at least two appointments that cost around £150 each.

Then, if the powers that be discern that I am actually trans, I'll be allowed to get top surgery. This is a double mastectomy that I have realised I've needed for about 7 years now. Top surgery can cost over £6000. This is the only medical procedure I feel I really need for myself and my transition.

I will be able to cover a lot of the cost as I am self-employed and I have two other part-time jobs, so I will be asking for around £3500 with this fundraiser. I'm so privileged to be in this position, so if you donate to me, please find someone else's transition fund who you can also give a little bit of money to.
