Born in Our Hearts

Thanks for following our journey! We are so excited to share this adventure with you. So, for those of you who don't know yet....we are adopting from Bulgaria! Several people have asked why we have chosen Bulgaria and the age of the children we are adopting. Some of these answers are below!

Bulgaria has the highest orphan rate in Europe and the fastest declining population in the world. Only fifty percent of Bulgaria’s orphans live past the age of twenty; of those that survive, fifty percent engage in a life of criminal behavior, homelessness, drugs, disease, and prostitution. Years of traumatic experiences at the orphanages cripple these children both physically and emotionally, leaving them with debilitating mental and physical illnesses. Bulgaria also has a very high rate of birth defects, which directly correlates with the high rate of child abandonment. Also, several countries had specific requirements and criteria we would have to meet to adopt from them, and Bulgaria was one the best fit for our family! They are also Hague approved, which was really important to us. The Hague Treaty creates a lot of rules that both adoptive parents and Hague countries must abide by, to make sure that adoptions performed in these countries are ethical.

When we started the process we thought we were going to have very young baby( 0-5 Years old) But, during the days of praying we decided to not set any limitation for God. So, we are feeling excited and Peaceful to adopt any ages, specially 10 and older, because their chances to be adopted is much lowed and also we decided to adopt siblings so that they can grow together and not be separated from each other anymore ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We have been so incredibly humbled by the support and prayers of our community, as we work to bring our Children home. Several people have asked us if we are fundraising for this adoption. We believe that God has called us all to care for orphans in some capacity. He makes this very clear many times in the scriptures. Adoption, however, can be very costly. Many in our community encouraged us to start raising the funds and let many people to be part of this Journey.

The money raised will go 100% towards our adoption fees. every amount helps. If you are unable to donate right now (and we would never ask that of anyone, but many have asked us to provide a place they could!) , we ask that you would please pray for us and our future children, as we prepare for them to come home.
