Shakespeare in Clark Park Red Bucket Show Donations 2024

Imposto dedutível
Shakespeare in Clark Park (SCP) is back this summer with a spectacular lineup, and we need your help to keep the magic alive!
We end each performance by collecting donations in big red buckets and now we're making it even easier by providing this Digital Red Bucket for 2024!

Perhaps you're joining us in June as our new adaptation of Comedy of Errors tours from park to park.

Maybe you'll be in attendance July 24-28, 2024, at 7 PM, in the open-air bowl of Clark Park for a mesmerizing performance of As You Like It. This year’s production, directed by the extraordinary Ontaria Kim Wilson, promises to be an unforgettable celebration of poetry, community, and the transformative power of theater.

Wherever you find us consider throwing something in the bucket so we can continue to provide accessible summer theatre to the Philadelphia community and beyond!

Why Your Support Matters
Our production of As You Like It isn’t just a play; it's a community-driven experience featuring professional Philadelphia actors alongside local community performers. Directed by Philadelphia native Ontaria Kim Wilson, this rendition delves deep into themes of displacement and community resilience, making it a powerful and relevant production for our city.

Theater for All: Our Commitment to Free Performances
We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality theater, which is why all our performances are free to the public. But to continue offering these incredible experiences, we need your help. After enjoying the show, we invite you to contribute to our beloved tradition of filling the red bucket, just like actors on Broadway do for charity.

How Your Donations Help
Your generous donations will support:

Production Costs: Ensure we have stunning costumes, sets, and the best lighting and sound to bring our story to life.
Community Workshops: Fund free poetry workshops curated by local poet and Resident Teaching Artist Warren Longmire. These workshops will explore the themes of the play and amplify diverse voices, culminating in pre-show poetry shares on June 24 and 28.
Weather Contingency: Help us secure the Annenberg Center at the University of Pennsylvania as an indoor venue in case of inclement weather, ensuring the show will go on!
Join Us for More Community Fun
In addition to As You Like It, we’re excited to take our performances on the road with The Comedy of Errors: Real Housewives of Ephesus, a contemporary, hour-long adaptation by local playwright Megan Schumacher. This hilarious take on Shakespeare's comedy promises to entertain audiences across the city.

How You Can Support
After enjoying our show, please consider filling the red bucket with a donation. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue to bring free, accessible theater to Philadelphia. Here’s how your donation can make a difference:

$25 will provide a costume piece for a community performer.
$50 will fund materials for the poetry workshops.
$100 will defray transportation costs for our community tour.
$250 will cover our props budget.
$500 or more will pay someone's salary.

Help Us Keep the Arts Alive
Your support makes a tangible difference. Enjoy the show, and as you leave, look for our red buckets – every dollar you drop helps keep the arts vibrant in our community.

Thank you for your generosity and for being part of the Shakespeare in Clark Park family!
