Shakta Space : QTI2SBIPOC WELLNESS
ORIGIN AND INSPIRATION:
Aim to stop the erasure of diaspora practices of Shakti worship and to highlight the need for solidarity/mutual aid and safe community space for QTI2SBIPOC
The is a SPACE to prioritize the legacy of community mutual aid carried by my ancestors especially my late Maternal Grandmother Ameeran Bhairo who always gave to her community and was vulnerable and receptive as well.
She hosted yearly spiritual blessings in her home called "Jandhi" where there were communal blessings, feasts, gifts for local elders and honoring our heritage. She reached out to elders, disabled folks and children in the neighborhood and throughout her life in Guyana and USA.
SHAKTA SPACE is a remembering of that legacy through action. It is also an intentional virtual temple for DIASPORAS who seek spiritual community and wellness. Together we ward of the effects of white supremacy and celebrate intersectionality. Diversity is life and abundance
