I have known Shane since childhood back when he could run, road dirt bikes, played football with my brother and I. I have many great memories with this man that I call my Brother. Anyone who knows Shane Ankeney knows he’s a fighter, a good father, friend, and helps anyone who needs it. Shane’s journey has taken turn and he needs help. In 2016 Shane was paralyzed head to toe with an autoimmune disorder known as “Gillian Barre Syndrome”. He had to be put on a ventilator and spent three months in and out of coma. Over the last 5 years he has inspired hundreds of people overcoming challenges of their own. Shane still struggles with paralysis and mobility. Shane is struggling with dislocated joints on his feet. He needs surgery in order to try to fix his feet. He has been putting surgery off due to home improvements that need done to support his power chair to allow his feet to heal properly. Which is why he needs help. If you can’t donate money but can volunteer your time or have lumber to help him get his home ready we would love that as well. If want to learn more about Shane and his journey visit www.shaneinspires.com. He has also developed a new organization you can check out at www.gbscidglobal.org that is designed to educate and support victims of Gillian Bare Syndrome.
