Shane Christman’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jeo Rodriguez, one of Shane’s good friends, and I am starting a GoFundMe for the Christman family.

On Monday August 28th, 2023 Shane experienced an extreme headache that brought him to the emergency room. By 9:30 P.M. Shane was being rushed into the OR for emergency brain surgery. After surgery, tests showed a mass in his brain that required an additional surgery to be removed. Currently Shane remains in the neuro intensive care unit, in critical but stable condition as of September 4th.

Shane and his wife Meredith are expecting their first baby at the end of November, soon after their first anniversary. Shane is facing a long recovery ahead and any support for their family would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:
October 19th, 2023: The biopsy of the tumor that was removed proved to be Medulloblastoma. Shane spent over 4 weeks in the ICU and was then moved to neuro acute rehab to get stronger before starting radiation and chemotherapy. He has a lot to relearn and will continue out-patient rehab in conjunction with his intensive radiation treatment plan starting in a few weeks. After radiation, chemotherapy infusions will occur over a 12-14 month period depending on what his body can handle. The fight continues and there is a long journey ahead, but the awaited birth of their first baby is keeping him motivated.
