Shane Fair Medical Assistance

On Wednesday December 6th I severely damaged my cornea whilst putting on my sunglasses. (Yes I know, idiotic) I have been to the hospital 2 more times since with followups at the SIUH Optometrist Clinic. There’s slight improvement but the pain is unbearable.

Since then I have been unable to work either one of my two current weekday jobs. The fact this is the holiday season has only made the situation worse. Neither job affords me the luxury of sick days, simply put if I don’t work I don’t get paid. The immediate economic hardships are evident.

I am completely embarrassed to ask for help whatsoever. I am someone that would much rather raise money for others than to ever ask for assistance myself. I’m ashamed but have few other options. I apologize for having to go this route. I know this is the Christmas season and everyone is watching every cent. This couldn’t be a worse time.

I can assure you I wouldn’t be doing this unless it was a last resort. The stress of worrying about my bills during this ordeal isn’t helping. I am expecting a large invoice for my hospital visits which is also scary.

This will be the only time I ever ask for assistance for myself and not helping others.
