Shane Grant's Going Home
Where to begin...Shane Micheal Grant could be described by everyone who knew him for his passion for cars; whether is was racing, building, fixing, talking about them, or spending countless hours shopping for parts on Craigslist. On the surface, Shane was a car man through and through, but below his grease monkey exterior was one of the most amazing and beautiful souls I've ever come to know. He was spirited and easy going, loving nothing more than spending time with his friends; shooting pool, or drinking Jameson and root beer. When he loved you, he loved you with all of his being, and I saw that love on his face when Haiden came into this world. Shane loved his daughter fiercely, and she was the center of his entire world. The love and feeling of a family was exactly where he was meant to be, and my soul cries knowing Haiden lost her amazing father at only two years old.
Shane is an Iraq War veteran, serving out of Fort Hood, TX with the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Batallion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. He served his country honorably, but more than that we made a bond and a family that would stay with him until his very last day.
I can't even begin to speak on behalf of his friends, and more importantly his family, as I look back and realize how little my time with him was. So I encourage everyone to share your stories of Shane, and help put light into our hearts as we mourn in our darkest hours.
This campaign is to help Shane's mother, Tasha and his sister, Rachelle as they make the final arrangements to bring Shane home from Georgia to Michigan. Any help, no matter how small it may seem, is a huge help to a mourning family. Please donate, and share your stories of our beloved son, brother, father, and friend Shane Michael Grant.
