Shane Maloney's EMERGENCY Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Gillian, and I am fundraising for Shane Maloney. On Saturday 7/9, Shane, a very healthy 19 year old young man, and his friends went to a facility to jump on trampolines and test their skills and strength. Unfortunately, Shane fell on a trampoline and being a 19 year old, he and his friends assumed that the injury was one that would go away with rest and hydration. 24 hours later, Shane was in worse condition, complaining of pain in his abdomen and shoulder that seemed to worsen as the day went on; he was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital by his parents. If you know the Maloneys, you know that they are calm, cool, and collected---Kyle & Shary are veterans of the US Army; Shary is a registered nurse who spends her entire days caring for others in their homes, and Shane is a member of the National Guard, so the decision to take Shane was one that came from the place of parents loving & knowing their son and recognizing this pain was beyond their ability to heal on their own.

Upon entry, Shane received an MRI and it was discovered that he experienced a GRADE 4 LIVER LACERATION. The pain in his abdomen and his shoulder are the result of blood pooling in his body. Shane was transferred from the Lehigh Valley Hospital to Cedarcrest Hospital in Allentown where he is now being monitored in the ICU and they anticipate him being there for the rest of the week. Here is the thing...Shane does not have private health insurance and at 19 years old is considered an adult and will be responsible for these bills. With the MRI, the ICU extended stay, and a potential surgery, Shane is facing not only months of recovery but also up to $10,000.00 of debt all on the cusp of his 20th birthday, which is 7/14. The Maloneys are not only my best friends, they are my family--we met each other at an ice cream social for our sons' kindergarten class over 15 years ago. They have seen me through many trials with my son and now it is my turn. Please help in any way you can.
