Shane O'Brien Medical Expenses

Shane is at Phoenix Children's Hospital, awaiting surgery to remove a dermoid tumor from his brain. Please help Casey and Kasi cover Shane's medical bills and other ongoing expenses throughout his recovery and rehab. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Prayers and happy thoughts would be greatly appreciated for our boy, Shane! We are currently in Phoenix Children's PICU. Shand had a biopsy last night and is having surery Monday to remove a Dermid tumor found yesterday during a brain MRI. He is feeling anxious to lose his new friend "Slimmer" the tumor. For those who know him personally: don't worry, his sense of humor is fully intact!

The optometrist at Phoenix Children's identified some nerological issues while assessing his lazy eye which is new and had been getting progressively worse. He sent Shane for an MRI. Once they identified that there was a mass and that it had ruptured, Casey was told to take Shane directly to Phoenix Chidlren's ED where Neuro was ready to consult. Dr. Goulb was amazing and explains everything they were seeing in the MRI.

Once Neuro assessed Shane and the situation, they took him into the OR to do a biopsy and attempt to reduce the pressure on the back of his left eye and on his brain in general, which they were successful in doing.

Surgery to remove the tumor is scheduled for Monday morning at 8am. There may be a second surgery in a couple weeks if they are not able to get all of the tumor during this first surgery.

Phoenix Children's staff is the best! His neurosurgeon has been amazing and answered every question.

Everyone is in good spirits knowing he is receiving the best care and is exactly where he needs to be. So many miracles have brought us to right where we need to be at this time! We are feeling so blessed and very much at peace with the current treatment plan.
