Shane Savage (Ribbons of ‘Grey’ce)

Shane Savage has been married to Tonya for 20 years! They have 4 amazing children, Brennan, Preston, Zadan and Azlan. Shane was diagnosed with an inoperable Grade 2 Oligodendroglioma brain tumor after suffering a seizure in December of 2013. He was on Chemotherapy for several months which helped shrink the tumor. Four years later the tumor began to show slow growth. Radiation was the next step in his treatment plan so he did that for several weeks. He continued to have scans every 3-6 months showing no change until June of 2019. Due to the scans showing slow growth he had an open-awake craniotomy. The biopsy results were the same (grade 2 oliodendroglimoa), so they just monitored it. Then comes December of 2019, the scans showed a very aggressive growth in tumor size. They decided to have another crainotomy in January of this year (2020), but this time in hopes of being able to resect a portion of the tumor. The tumor has crossed over the midline, but once in the OR the dr. decided it was still in a location he did not feel comfortable resecting from so very minimal tissue was taken. The results from the biopsy sent to Mayo Clinic showed that Shane's tumor has progressed to a more aggressive tumor. He has been taking Chemo for a few months now and it was not shrinking the tumor so the doctors suggested that he be placed on Hospice. So in May 2020 after another seizure, Shane was placed on Hospice. On July 12,2020, Shane won his battle and went into the arms of our Lord surrounded by family and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, he will always be in our hearts. Fly high Superman Shane! Please continue to pray for The Savage family.
