Helping Shanelle Kick Cancers Ass! UPDATE

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brittany and I’m fundraising for my niece Shanelle Meneen. On February 13th 9 yr old Shanelle was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma a rare childhood cancer and that’s just the first name of the type of cancer she has. We are still waiting for her molecular testing to come back so they know what “the second name” of the subtype of cancer she has in order to fully treat the cancer, if they need to lower or up her treatments. Her plan for treatment for right now is 12 weeks of chemotherapy, travelling back and forth 6 1/2hrs to Edmonton every week so she can get her treatments. We recently found out her radiation treatments will be in Florida because they are the only ones who have access to her type of radiation treatment she is needing.

Our Little Warrior is handling it so well! She is going to kick this cancers ass!!!!!!!

**UPDATE FROM SHANELLE’S MOM SARAH**
It’s been a heavy, hectic couple weeks with doctors visits and being sent home with no answers and feeling horrible bc I knew something was wrong with my child AGAIN
We were flown out last week Oct 3rd from High level to Edmonton to the Stollery. They did a CT scan in High Level and it showed “a bleed” behind her eye, Wednesday morning they did another CT scan with contrast this time at the Stollery and it confirmed Shanelle’s had a “relapses” the tumour was confirmed to be back they told me.
Friday she was sent in for an urgent MRI, later that evening her oncologist called to confirm the findings of the CT scan BUT the MRI found 2 tumors and they’re growing at a rapid rate.
Now she has no choice to have her eye and everything in her eye socket scraped and removed in order to save her life. But first she’ll have a biopsy done just to be 100% its a relapse, most likely it is they say..

It’s crazy how everything’s happened in such little time. She was just scanned on Sept 8th and everything was good!!! And everything started happening after her accident on the sxs (Sept 23rd), doctors say the accident was a blessing in disguise bc we wouldnt have caught it early. She even had her surgery set to have her port removed Oct. 16th!

*Shanelle and her family have been now traveling again back and forth to Edmonton for more appointments and are staying longer in Edmonton than before each time. There has been talks of them possibly going back to Florida for more treatments again. I have updated the go fund me for those wondering how Shanelle is doing today, and hope we can continue to still support her on this journey to recovery*
