Award Tidy Town or Bus Connects?
Shankill Community Action is a community-backed campaign challenging unsustainable plans for Bus Connects, while seeking a balance between progress and preservation, to meet future transport needs, while retaining the unique charm of Shankill It strongly supports the overall Bus Connects project but opposes its extension through Shankill, because this is socially unacceptable. environmentally disastrous and economically unsound.Instead of the current proposals, the scheme should:
- Stop at Loughlinstown Roundabout, where it can link in with the proposed N11/M11 Bus Priority Interim Scheme(N11/M11 BPIS).
- Maintain Shankill’s excellent bus service, with only buses serving Shankill and Bray going through Shankill.
- Improvements in Shankill to enhance the public realm and safe active travel.
Keep Shankill Beautiful
Submissions to An Bord Pleanála are due by Tuesday 10th October and will cost €50 each. Unlike previous consultations, this time quality will be more important than quantity.
