I'M DOING ANOTHER UPDATE ON MY DAUGHTER, SHANNON ADKINS JAMES. SHANNON IS NOW HOME AFTER 5 MONTHS IN THE HOSPITAL AND NURSING HOME/REHAB. SHANNON IS STILL UNABLE TO WALK. SHE CONTINUES TO HAVE PHYSICAL THERAPY AND WE CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT SHE WILL ONE DAY BE ABLE TO WALK AND WE'RE STILL PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE. SHANNON HAS HAD NO INCOME COMING IN. ATTORNEYS HAVE FILED FOR HER DISABILITY, BUT WE'RE TOLD IT CAN TAKE MONTHS BEFORE WE EVER HEAR BACK FROM THEM. SHANNON'S BILLS AND LIVING EXPENSES CONTINUE AND WE'RE TRYING TO HELP HER AS MUCH AS WE CAN, BUT ARE UNABLE TO DO ALL SHE NEEDS. WE CONTINUE TO NEED YOUR PRAYERS AND ANY DONATIONS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO ASSIST HER WITH. WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS AND ALL THOSE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO HELP SHANNON. THIS HAS BEEN A LONG, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL 5 MONTHS, THAT NO ONE COULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED FOR. MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!
I'M DOING AN UPDATE ON MY DAUGHTER, SHANNON. SHANNON IS NOW IN A REHABILITATION CENTER IN GREENVILLE, S.C. SHE'S NOW BEEN IN EITHER THE HOSPITAL OR REHABILITATION FACILITY FOR 4 LONG MONTHS! WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG SHE WILL BE THERE. THIS MAKES IT HARDER FOR FAMILY TO VISIT OFTEN; IT'S A 2 HOUR DRIVE. I'M ASKING IF ALL OF YOU CAN PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS. HER BILLS CONTINUE TO MOUNT, WHILE WE'RE STRUGGLING TO KEEP HER HOUSE PAYMENTS MADE AND PAY HER OTHER HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES. IF ANYONE COULD HELP IN ANY WAY, IT WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED! SHE IS GETTING HER THERAPY EACH DAY, AND WE'RE STILL PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE!! ALL OF YOUR PREVIOUS PRAYERS AND DONATIONS HAVE BEEN DEEPLY APPRECIATED AND HELPED TO PAY HER EXPENSES. SHE STILL HAS A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF HER. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
I am doing this for my daughter, Shannon A.dkins James. Shannon has now been in the hospital in her 3rd month. Once she's dismissed from the hospital, she will be transferred to an in-patient facility for vigorous physical therapy for months. Shannon went to PMC in Rock Hill with severe back pain. They did a MRI, CT scan & Ultrasound. They told her she had degenerative arthritis of the spine. They gave her muscle relaxers, pain medication & sent her home. She had to return the text day, as the pain had intensified. They gave her more meds & sent her home again. After 2 days, her pain was unbearable. Thank God, she went to CMC in Pineville. They did a CT scan & immediately called in a neurosurgeon. As soon as he looked at the scan, he said he had to do emergency surgery! PMC had given her the wrong diagnosis 2 times!! She, in fact, had a rare infection on her spine. She was in surgery 4 hours. The surgeon said if she had waited just 2 hours before coming to CMC, she would have died. It was touch and go for awhile, as the surgeon said she could still die after surgery. They are loading her up on antibiotics intravenously. They put in a pic-line so they didn't have to continue sticking her. Shannon has no feeling in her legs and feet. The neurosurgeon and her other doctors don't know if she will ever walk again. She will be hospitalized for at least 2 more months or longer. She's having vigorous physical therapy, but, as of today, there hasn't been any change. As a mother, watching my daughter like she is absolutely heartbreaking. I would gladly take her place if I could. All of this was such a shock and unexpected. This has totally devastated our family. Myself and a few family members are doing all we can for her, but they have families also and I'm on social security. Even after doing all we can, we can't possibly take care of all she needs. Shannon is self-employed and has an 8 year old daughter at home. She can't work and we have no idea if or when she'll ever be able to work again. But her bills continue coming in for her home. We can't imagine how much she'll end up owing surgeons, doctors, the hospital and all the many other medical expenses. The amount is growing everyday. We don't know what the future holds, but we know it is in God's hands. We pray, without ceasing for a miracle. Please keep her, her 2 children and our family in your prayers. If you can help her in any way with expenses to keep her home and to cover her on-going monthly bills, anything would be greatly appreciated. I worry so much about her having all of this on her mind, when all she needs to do is concentrate on her health right now. I've prayed so much about this and God led me to do this for her. All prayers and any help for her will be deeply appreciated and a blessing to her. Thanking all in advance and God Bless You All.
