Shannon Coleman Funeral Expenses

At 20 years old life has barely started. Shannon was expecting her second child, this time a son, in just a few short weeks. Maternal mortality feels like it should be something of the past. The truth is that of developed countries the U.S. has one of the highest death rates for expecting mothers, more than double our counterparts. Shannon deserved better care. So many American mothers deserve better care. She visited the hospital 3 times in the last 2 weeks. She was admitted on Saturday, February 12, discharged on the 13th and died on Monday the 14th. She suffered from amniotic fluid embolism and it took her life and her unborn son's life.

In her 20 years of life Shannon endured a lot challenges. She was a teen mother and still managed to graduate from high school. She didn't sugar coat things and had a short temper, but she cared deeply for her family and friends. Few of us expect to die so young. Shannon had no savings or assets. Her mother has taken on the brunt of financial obligations and is not in a position herself to do so. If we can surround their family with love and support and monetary assistance when able, then we can help ease this already tragic event.

2 Urns (one for the baby's father one for the Coleman family): $200-400
