Shannon Culbert's Memorial Fund

Shannon Patricia Culbert passed away February 4, 2021.    Our hearts are...simply put...broken.  Shannon cherished each day as a daughter, a sister, an aunt,  Rob's wife and a teacher.  My sister was an incredible woman and I was honored to be her big sister.   I could certainly take time to share silly and heartfelt stories of her growing up, however, it seems more important to focus on the last 20 years she blessed us on this earth.  
 
This is the love story of Shannon and Rob.  Over 20 years ago, they met at Colorado College and I can still hear the change in my sister’s voice, when she first talked about Rob.  She was smitten!  They fell in love and in May of 2001 they married in a ceremony filled with joy, laughter and love.   For many years, their marriage was filled with the experiences you’d dream of: Travel, great jobs they both loved, time with friends, and building memories.  

Shannon had Diabetes from an early age. As time progressed, her struggle was made more difficult with the onset of additional challenges, including Multiple Sclerosis.  During this time, Rob continued to care and support her - putting her care first!  He nurtured not only her soul, but took care of her physically.  Each year, unfortunately, the decline continued, resulting in medical bills that have become overwhelming.  Rob gave whatever was required to secure her medications, medical devices or appointments with doctors, to insure she had only the best.  I know Rob would have had it no other way and I know Shannon didn't want him to be saddled with the loss and the lingering debt.  She asked that in lieu of flowers, any contribution to help lift the burden from Rob, be considered.
