Shannon Fight Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Veronica Ontiveros and I'm fundraising for my mother Shannon Ontiveros.
Shannon was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks ago-
We are still waiting for a couple tests to come back that could change her treatment plan completely. So far the best case scenario would be for all tests to come back negative. If they come back negative she will have a surgery (which surgery is still on the table while waiting for results), followed by a 4 week recovery period. She will then have chemotherapy for 16 weeks, followed by another four week recovery, then radiation for 4 to 6 weeks, followed by five years of ongoing endocrine therapy.
This best case scenario treatment plan will be approximately 32 weeks which is about 7 1/2 months. Shannon will be taking a leave of absence for a minimum of six months, with a possibility of returning to work sooner if doctors allow. As of April 5, she will have exhausted her paid leave at her job and will have to start short term disability that will only cover 60% of her monthly income, which for someone who lives paycheck to paycheck will not be enough. As of now we are to planning on Shannon being off of work completely for six months. Her mortgage each month is $1806, plus all of the regular household bills, car payment, car insurance, phone bill, etc. This is not including the medical bills that she will accumulate as she has already started receiving them.
She will be missing approximately $1500 each month for a minimum of six months. Our fundraiser goal is to raise enough to cover my moms monthly expenses for the next 6 months so she can focus on taking care of herself. To fight, to hope, and to heal without another layer of stress.
We will keep this page updated with each appointment on my moms journey. We appreciate each and every one of you that shares, donates, and prays for my mom and our family. Please lift Shannon up and pray for her to win this fight.
