Help Shannon Kick Cancer's Ass

My friend since high school, Shannon Hardner, has been diagnosed with cancer. She is a full-time student working on completing her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice through the University of Phoenix while she was a bartending at Foo Bar Cocktail Lounge located in Downtown Historic Melbourne, Florida.

On September 10th, 2022, she was rushed to Melbourne Holmes Regional Hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing due to a collapsed lung, upon further testing and imaging, a large 13cm mass was found just under her sternum which was putting pressure on her heart, lungs, and esophagus. An emergency manual thoracentesis was performed to drain the fluid from her lungs, and she was transported to the oncology department at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida for further testing. Doctors at AdventHealth performed another thoracentesis along with a pericardial window to drain fluids from the lining of her heart and she had three chest tubes inserted to continue draining fluids. On September 15th, 2022 she underwent another surgery to insert a chemo port and was diagnosed with Stage 3B Classic Small Cell Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

She is being treated by Dr. Zakari, a leading oncologist with AdventHealth Orlando. she currently undergoing ABrVD chemotherapy infusion treatments bi-weekly at the Florida Cancer Institute in Orlando. She was given a home health aid nurse that visits her three times a week to assist with manually draining her chest tubes. To top it off, she will be starting radiation therapy as well within the next month.

Unfortunately, she has been unable to work due to being ill from the side effects of the treatments and having an immunocompromised immune system. She is struggling to pay rent, utilities, and personal bills as well as gas for treatment transportation, co-pays for treatment, and the cost of some of her much needed prescribed medications.
