Updated: 2020 Shannon Hunston - colon cancer
Donation protected
On April 24, 2019 our family received news that changed all our lives. My sister, Shannon Hunston, was diagnosed with colon cancer. This was a huge shock to all of us- there is no family history of this and according to her insurance she doesn't fit the "profile" for this type of cancer.
The doctor immediately sent her for more tests to determine the stage & what steps would be taken next.
Thankfully, the cancer has not spread to any other places in her body! But, with that good news also came the bad news. The tumor is currently inoperable because of it's size & stage. It has affected nearby lymph nodes- making it Stage 3 cancer.
Shannon will be having a port put in this week & will start chemo on May 14. They are starting with aggressive chemo followed by more chemo, radiation and surgery.
As you can see- it’s going to be a long journey for Shannon & her family! I created this page to help take some stress off Shannon & Brian so they can focus on healing and spending time together as a family. Shannon & Brian have 3 kids: Braden who is 12 & 5-year-old twins, Sadie & Bryce. Many people have asked, "How can I help?" and I think this is the best way to allow Shannon to focus on healing and her biggest blessings, her family!

Hopefully this monetary support will help their whole family adjust to the new normal of doctor appointments, scans, blood work & tests. Your support can make the multiple medical bills, transportation to and from all the various hospitals, and even unexpected household expenses a little easier to manage.
Above all- I ask for your prayers for Shannon! Prayers for healing and prayers for strength!
