Help Shannon Fight Cancer

Shannon is one of the best people that we know. We absolutely love her and she brings joy to all of us. She has the warmest spirit, and her laugh is infectious. She is generous and kind, and she cares deeply for everyone. As a nurse, a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a friend, she gives all of herself in everything that she does. Shannon is a bright light in our lives.
Unfortunately, right now, we are all shaken. Our beloved Shannon has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. We are anxious and sad and angry, and most of all, scared. As we try to process this news, we feel we have to do something to help. We know that Shannon has so many loved ones that want to support her. We want to channel this support in the most productive way possible.
Shannon and her husband, Ken, are soul mates. Their family inspires us and has brought us so much happiness. They are both dedicated and hardworking public servants. Their daughter, Everly, just over 4 years old, makes us laugh and is a complete jokester. Their youngest, Kensley, was welcomed into the world just 5 months ago and is an absolute angel. Duke is both the goofiest and sweetest dog ever. Their family is an example of love, and Shannon is the center of it all. Shannon is a wonderful mom, and Ken is the rock of the family.
With all that is going on, Shannon and Ken are under a lot of pressure. They are preparing themselves mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially for a very aggressive treatment plan that is estimated to last at least a year. This will be a long road, and they will have a significant loss of income as they reprioritize around appointments, treatments and recovery time. To make matters more difficult, during Shannon’s recent maternity leave, she had exhausted all of her accrued time off to care for her newborn, Kensley, and this also placed a strain on their savings. This is all a major burden, and they have never complained. Instead, they are dealing with it step by step and as best they can.
Shannon and Ken would never ask for help, but we have taken it upon ourselves to ask you to help them. With that said, we feel the best way we can all help Shannon and her family right now is to help ease their financial burdens during this challenging time, so they can put 100% of their precious energy into caring for each other and beating cancer. That is why we ask for your support.
We know that Shannon and Ken are not alone. We know that they have an army of loved ones standing by them that want to contribute to their peace of mind. We put this campaign together so that we can channel our collective strength and fight with them. They need to focus on Shannon’s health without the additional financial pressures and distractions, and they need our help to do so.
We are forever grateful for your support. No gift is too small. Every one of your gestures shows Shannon that she has all of your support, which gives her strength. Shannon in our lives has been a gift. It is now time for us to give back to her. Let’s support this family. Nobody is more deserving.
