I just can not wrap my head around how norovirus, a common stomach bug, takes the life of a healthy 22 year old girl, who had just begun her life, causing her to aspirate, sending her into rhabdo, with in a period of 2 days. My heart is shattered, shattered for a life lost so young, for a mom who not only lost her daughter, but her best friend, a dad who had to carry his daughter down the stairs and call 911 because she was unresponsive, parents who had to watch their baby be intubated, who followed behind the ambulance to the hospital and walk in to their daughter coding, getting her back, just to have her code again, going 30 plus minutes with out oxygen, causing a stroke which led to brain death, two brothers who lost their sister, a family who lost their niece, cousin, grand daughter, and an entire hospital who lost a coworker and friend. Life is unfair, she deserved so much better.
