Shannon Adams has blessed the lives of so many for the last 33 years of her life. Her gentle spirit and ability to understand the needs of those around her has made her such an essential part of our world and community. Shannon’s strength, resilience, and sense of humor is beyond measure. And even though she would never ask for it, right now she needs our help.
In late September Shannon was admitted to the hospital after dealing with constant nausea, vomiting, mysterious bruising and acute pain for weeks. They diagnosed her with a serious pyelo infection (severe infection in the kidneys) and aggressively treated her with IV antibiotics through a pic line.
Once discharged, most of her symptoms continued even after the infection had cleared. The last few months have been filled with dozens upon dozens of tests, procedures, and medications.
After further testing she has been diagnosed with a yet to be determined autoimmune disease, that is attacking her central nervous system. One of her most prominent symptoms has been her inability to eat solid foods and process protein. Doctors believe she has a motility disorder, where part of her stomach and/or intestines may be experiencing paralysis or nerve damage.
With the hospital stay, on-going visits with specialists, weekly lab work, and constant testing the medical bills are mounting. Thankfully she has health insurance for the first time in years but even with that she currently owes $7000+ and she has not yet been fully diagnosed!
Shannon is one of the best. She’s one of the most generous and selfless human beings to all of those around her. We want to help her break-through this struggle. All we can do is pray to see full healing in her body and give.
Our wish is to see the mountain of stress she’s facing disappear and the most tangible way we see that happening is by having all of her medical bills covered. We want Shannon to focus completely on her health and healing and feel so taken care of, just as she has helped to make so many others around her feel.
Shannon deserves answers in so many ways and we can be that solution in the area of finances. Let’s come together to solve this one worry in our girl’s heart and keep praying to see complete healing in Jesus name.
