Hello... my name is Gail, Shannon‘s mother. I am reaching out to family, friends, and anyone who can help us please.
My daughter Shannon has suffered for the last 12 years in chronic pain with many autoimmune disorders; Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Reynaud’s Disease & Lupus. Shannon’s life is hard enough to manage as it is with all these medical conditions. She has tried everything from weekly shots to chemotherapy. Unfortunately, an MRI has diagnosed on January 29, 2015. Shannon with a large brain tumor; its 3.23cm x 6cm x 3cm.1cm and located behind her left ear and its pushing on her brain stem. As the brain tumor grows it’s causing the tumor to press on the facial nerves and currently pressing on the Trigeminal Nerve causing Shannon to not be able to sleep. She screams in her sleep all hours of the night because of the pressure & electric shock & the stabbing pain she feels just under her jaw and around the back of her head.
The Trigeminal Nerve pain has been described as the most excruciating pain known to humanity. Shannon is extremely exhausted 24/7 everyday she gets weaker and weaker. During the day Shannon experiences extreme vertigo and alarming blood pressure issues. She can’t take it anymore, if her brain tumor isn’t removed soon, Shannon will experience irreversible facial paralysis.
Shannon is my daughter and I love her with all my heart, but I wish I could do something to make it all go away, but, all I can do is pray. Please pray for my daughter, Shannon she needs all the prayers she can get and then some.
Shannon lives in northern Nevada with me and I am her caregiver. This couldn’t have come at a worse time for us. I just went thru domestic violence and was just divorced January 26, 2015. My ex-husband decided it would be funny to close our joint account without my knowledge only leaving us with .18 cents, leaving us totally impoverished. In my divorce he was to pay the lease out until June 1, 2015, and because my advocate couldn’t get me an attorney, he didn’t have to pay for the remainder of the lease to our landlords. I have sold whatever I could to keep Shannon, and I from being out on the streets. The lease is up May 31st and we are struggling. We have to move out of the house as we can’t afford the rent and at the same time Shannon needs this Urgent surgery it can’t wait anymore… So I decided to put everything in storage and figure out how to get Shannon, her daughter Ashley and myself to Los Angeles for her surgery at USC on May 26th. I am sincerely reaching out for help to everyone we know to please help. We have a lot of family and friends and if everyone does just a little we are hoping to get through this and we are so grateful for any amount without putting anyone in any hardship situation. Shannon cannot work and has no income and still waiting on disability benefits for 1 ½ years now. Shannon and I need flights to Los Angeles for Pre-Op and Post-Op appointments, she will need a hearing aid that is several thousand dollars. I am so overwhelmed and don’t know what’s going to happen. I have never been in this kind of situation but Shannon can’t suffer anymore. We have less than 20 days. We are praying we don’t have to reschedule again due to finances. Seriously Shannon is growing so weak and so tired I don’t think she can last much longer, it’s been 4 more months since the MRI and looking at her, I think her condition is deteriorating to the point of exhaustion she just isn’t herself, at her age she should be strong but she is very weak.
Dear family, friends, and all who read this sad existence of a beautiful young lady, we can’t make it without you, I ask for whatever help anyone is able to do. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter about my daughter. I have never asked anyone for anything like this but it’s for my daughter who I would do anything for and Shannon has a daughter, Ashley, who she would very much like to be around to see her daughter grow up. Please help me make this Miracle happen, to help Shannon through these trying times.
God Bless,
Gail Cribbins
