Hi, my name is Shannon,
In 2018 I finished my master's at Emerson College, worked full time, then covid hit, and I was essential until I wasn't. I got laid off from my job at The YMCA; I had a good savings and almost no credit card debt.
I looked for work while having the covid unemployment, I looked and looked and found nothing, the point came when I had to move from Boston back to South San Francisco, this caused a massive uptick in my credit card debt to 4k from 500, the move, hotels, food, etc.
I found part-time work in South City at Spirit and Starbucks, Spirit ended I was still applying for full-time jobs, and still at Starbucks, I was able to make extra here and there, to cover insurance and a few other things, like my psych meds, doing photo editing, and making presentations. My Laptop died, not a problem. I still had my desktop, then a few weeks ago, my desktop died, I have a tablet still to apply for jobs, but it's not easy. So then Starbucks cut my hours to 15 a week... a cost-saving measure.
I am barely staying on top of bills because I need my meds and insurance, and as well all know living in the modern world life without a computer is hard,
The $6000 would cover getting a new computer and clear most of my debt; the rest would go to medical bills for my parents.
I am the kind of person when helped; I will always pay it forward; if you could help me or share this, it would be much appreciated.
