Shannon's eye surgery
Donation protected
My name is Shannon Gerdts and I am asking for any support in raising the funds needed to undergo a groundbreaking procedure. I'm 34 years old and I am going to be a father for the first time this December. I have been blind since October of 1997 and thought there would never be an opportunity quite like this in my lifetime. By undergoing this amazing procedure I have the possibility of regaining sight that was thought to be impossible until now. To find out more about this life changing medical breakthrough please go to https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01920867?term=stem+cell+ophthalmology&rank=1.
My my surgery date is scheduled for November 15 th in Florida and due to the nature of the trial it is not covered by health insurance nor is any of my travel reservations paid for. Through a generous loan I was able to come up with the money for the procedure so that I could confirm my surgery date but I am looking to gain all the support I can so that I may pay this generosity back as soon as possible.
I never thought that that I would have the chance to look into my baby's eyes, but thanks to this incredible opportunity that has been presented to me, I may have that chance. So with your help I hope to truly make this procedure happen without a glitch.
