Shannon\'s Recovery
February 28, 2011 (Flint, MI) - Shannon Proffer, 19 year old daughter of Industry Professional Dan Proffer (VP of Sales and Marketing as Powerlet Products), was seriously injured in a hit and run accident on Saturday evening in Scottsdale, Arizona. Shannon is an avid athlete and motocross rider, who is studying Events Management in Arizona. While riding in a Pedi-Cab home from dinner Saturday evening, Shannon, her co-worker, and Pedi-Cab cyclist were barreled over by a drunk driver on Scottsdale Road. Local officials are still investigating the incident and no arrests have been made; eye witnesses claim a large SUV hit the Pedi-Cab, dragged them for as much as fifty feet, and then continued down the road without stopping.
Shannon is in the Maricopa County Hospital Intensive Care Unit, suffering from a compound fracture of her Tibia/Fibula, multiple fractures in her pelvis, ruptured spleen, concussion, and serious road rash. Dan and wife, Cheri, have both made arrangements for lodging and travel to be with Shannon during her recovery. The Proffer asks that you send all correspondence to [email redacted] and they will ensure that Shannon gets all the messages; rest and recovery are her first priority at the moment.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated; travel miles or airline donations would be a great option, since travel to and from Arizona from Flint, Michigan can add up quickly. All financial donations will go directly to Shannon and her recovery.
