Shannon's Journey (Kidney & Pancreas Transplant)
Donation protected
With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Mt. 19:26)
Nearly 5 years ago, I succumbed to kidney failure and had to start doing dialysis multiple days each week for 3-4 hours. During this time, my faith never faltered that God would provide me with a healthy kidney so that I could lead a 'normal life.' After several years of waiting for a kidney and many bouts with illness and thousands of hours of dialysis treatment, on Tuesday, January 12th God blessed me with a transplant of both a kidney and pancreas. To God be the glory!
I am so grateful to God and the donor. After going through a 13 hour surgery, I now have a lenghty road to recovery. There will be many medicines to take and an extended period of time that I will not be able to work. However, I know that God will sustain me. Amen!
I am humbly seeking your financial support to help pay for my surgery, post-surgery hospital stay, multiple trips to the hospital for weekly check-ups, and a long list of medicines that I must take. Unfortunately, like many others during this pandemic, I became unemployed prior to my transplant so insurance and income is not a real option for me. I pray that you consider supporting me as I progress to living my 'normal life' that God has granted me with my new kidney and pancreas.
Love,
Shannon
