Shantelle Caverly, a 30-year-old angel on earth, has been spreading Peace & Love her entire life. Anyone who has ever met her knows that she is one of the most genuine, caring, and lovable people on this planet. The joy she spreads with her infectious laughter, captivating eyes and bright shining soul is something so undeniably beautiful and special, just like she is - inside and out! Shantelle, who goes by Shany, was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma – a breast cancer requiring one of the most aggressive chemo treatments that exist. She has faced this unexpected life event with the utmost bravery and relentless will to overcome it! Her loved ones continue to be in awe of her every day. Anyone whose life has been impacted by cancer, directly or indirectly, knows the HUGE impact this has on a person emotionally, physically and financially. Shany’s friends and family are calling on the community to help support and encourage her as she faces the coming months of treatment! Shany is undeniably one of the sweetest human beings alive. She is there for her friends whenever they need a shoulder to cry on, a loving embrace, or laughter to get them through hard times. Her selfless nature has been such a positive light in the lives of the many people she cares about and she is always the first to offer a helping hand to someone in need. She has arrived at a point in her life where it would mean the world to have some of the love, light and good karma come back her way. In December 2022, Shany identified a concerning lump in her breast and booked an appointment with a doctor to investigate it furtherThe doctor referred Shany for surgery and a biopsy was conducted on the mass which was subsequently confirmed to be malignant and cancerous. Shany then underwent a mammogram which identified several other concerning masses. Multiple additional biopsies were required, but in the end, they were all confirmed to be benign (non-cancerous) and a lumpectomy surgery was scheduled to remove the single cancerous mass. During the lumpectomy to remove the mass, the doctors took various samples from other locations in the breast and determined that one of the lymph nodes contained cancer. Her oncologist informed her that there was evidence of cancer in the lymphatic system, confirming it has spread. The doctors needed to conduct a myriad of tests to determine if the cancer had metastasized (formed) anywhere else in her body. Thankfully, there were no further cancerous masses identified through the testing and a treatment plan could now be determined.
