My daughter is in the US Army. About 100 soldiers in her unit have been deployed and will remain abroad for at least the next seven months.

My 26 year old daughter is a Platoon Leader and would like to help these soldiers create fond memories by hosting a monthly meeting that promotes camaraderie among the group as well as celebrating successes and birthdays during that month. My daughter and other leaders have, in the past, donated from their salaries to create an event for the over 100 soldiers who participate.

Here is the breakdown if the goal of $4000 is achieved: $5.71 per soldier each month

$4000/ 7 months stay= $571.42 each month

$571.42/ 100 soldiers = $5.71 each soldier

The idea is to provide each soldier monthly with a slice of pizza, some birthday cake, and refreshments with turkey on Thanksgiving. There is a pizza place on base, the prices there are the same as you and I would pay in our neighborhoods.
