The Historical Anthropology Series for the Support of Amazonian Education (SHARE)

Mission:
SHARE Amazonica is a project that aims to increase the interchange of knowledge, ideas and issues about the amazon region of Peru. This includes translating classic books, publishing books written by indigenous people in their languages and edited in Spanish, organizing collaborative programs with a focus on inter-cultural education and creating short films in and about the region in cooperation with local people.

Who We





Who we Are:
We are a group of socia scientists—mostly Peruvians—who carry out research and collaborative projects with indigenous people in the Amazon region of Peru, and have a history of working for greater indigenous territories, social justice, environmental protection, political participation, intercutural education and indigenous rights.

Goals:
We are seeking funding  to formalize our work, register our logo and estabish ourselves as leaders in collaborative intercultural education in Peru and beyond. We have a history of using all contributions to produce real results, as can be seen with our work with Amawaka people on the Inuya River where we atarted with a series of small donation, whch we used to apply to a grant from the Wenner-Gren foundation that has allowed us to film a documentary, and document the serioius health situation in the newly formed Native Community of Alto Esperanza on the upper Inuya. Serie Histórico-Antropológica para Respaldar la Educación Amazónica (SHARE)

 

Misión

SHARE Amazónica es un proyecto que busca incrementar el intercambio de conocimiento, ideas y temas sobre la región amazónica del Perú. Esto incluye: traducir libros clásicos, publicar libros escritos por autores indígenas en sus idiomas y editados en español, organizar programas de colaboración centrados en la educación intercultural y crear cortometrajes en, y sobre, la región en cooperación con la población local.

Fotos tomada durante un taller que tuvimos con el Pueblo Amawaka en el río Inuya de la Amazonía peruana. Durante este taller, los Amawaka hicieron una película sobre su propia historia, cultura y transformaciones.

 









 

Quiénes somos:

Somos un grupo de científicos sociales -en su mayoría peruanos- que realizamos proyectos de investigación y colaboración con pueblos indígenas de la región amazónica del Perú, y tenemos experiencia de trabajo a favor de la ampliación de los territorios indígenas, justicia social, protección ambiental, participación política, educación intercultural y derechos indígenas.

 

Objetivos:

Buscamos fondos para formalizar nuestro trabajo, registrar nuestro logo y establecernos como líderes en la educación intercultural colaborativa en el Perú y el extranjero. Sus contribuciones serán de gran utilidad en la obtención de importantes resultados. Por ejemplo, se puede ver nuestro trabajo con la gente de Amawaka del río Inuya, donde pudimos empezar a trabajar gracias a una serie de pequeñas donaciones, lo cual a su vez nos permitió postular a una subvención de la fundación Wenner-Gren que nos ha permitido filmar un documental y documentar la precaria situación sanitaria de la, recién formada, Comunidad Nativa Alto Esperanza en el Alto Inuya. Agradecemos su apoyo y esperamos seguir contando con el mismo en el futuro.
