Share the costs of legal action

On June 30, 2023, the Lynchburg City General Registrar and Director of Elections, Christine Gibbons, was removed by the Republican majority of the Electoral Board for apparently political reasons since there have been no performance-based reasons given for her firing. Ms. Gibbons has been a good and faithful administrator of elections for the past five years and Lynchburg has enjoyed smooth-running and fair elections under her leadership. In light of the unlawfulness of her firing, she is suing the Electoral Board for wrongful termination. While she has been able to retain pro bono counsel, there will still be expenses to be paid (such as subpoena fees or deposition expenses); therefore, I am asking all who believe that we must stand up in opposing injustice to contribute through GoFundMe to help with these expenses.

To keep our democracy strong and vibrant when threats arise, it is important that citizens make noise, write letters, speak out, contribute assistance as you can and VOTE!
