WHEN WE BECOME OURS is the first anthology of YA stories by adoptees about adoptees, and publishes in October. In this sense, the book is more than a book -- it is an important place for adoptees and others to connect around our shared and different experiences.

To this end, editors Shannon Gibney and Nicole Chung are organizing readings and discussions with contributors in Minneapolis, New York City, Seattle, and San Francisco. Our adoptee authors are located around the country, however, so we need to fundraise for their transportation, food, and hotel fees.

We are asking for $4K to fund this. Any excess funds will be used to purchase copies of the book to give to organizations that serve young adoptees, and high school libraries.
