SHAREcenter Needs your help!
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Lisa Rodrigues. I am the Director of a Maine-based nonprofit called SHAREcenter. Please consider a nominal donation to help us reach our "Go Fund Me" goal!
Our mission is to Rescue Reusable Resources to help Support Maine's Environment, Education and Economy.
Our organization diverts millions of dollars of still valuable furniture and materials each year from being thrown into our overflowing landfills. We then redirect these rescued items through our center and into the hands of Educators and Caregivers for a new life in their schools and nonprofits! This program is a genuine Win, Win, Win for our communities!
Unfortunately, we are being evicted from our largest distribution center in Lewiston as of September 30, 2022. We are in desperate need of a new permanent home. Without a new building to transfer our inventory to, we will potentially be forced to discard tons of incredible materials into our waste stream. Our Maine schools and those who serve our most needy will go without our services.
We are asking our communities to help us fund a new facility so we may continue to "Help the Helpers" in our beautiful State of Maine. We have potentially found a new location, provided we can generate a portion of the funding.
A new, more accommodating center will open up opportunities SHAREcenter has never had before. For example, a loading dock will allow national organizations to donate to our mission by tractor-trailer loads. In addition, we will be able to establish a Makers Space for our members and the public to use to create items with saved materials. This central collection hub will allow us to gather and then distribute furniture, arts/crafts, office, classroom materials, STEAM supplies and much more to future SHAREcenter annexes throughout the State of Maine. Finally, we plan to open a "Green Zone" shop for the public to buy our overstock of items at much-reduced prices and help support our budget.
Supporting Maine's children and families in need is not only extremely rewarding but a necessity in this current struggling economic climate. In addition, being able to divert tons of waste each year is not just a responsible caretaker of our planet; it is critical to the impact of destructive climate change on our environment.
Thank you for taking the time to read our Go Fund Me Page. Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you believe in our mission, please share this page with others.
