Shared Support for the Wehe Family

Donation protected
The Wehe family's story is one of faith, persistence and courage. Taffy Wehe, mother of four, has been battling a rare type of cancer since 2006.  As of August 2020, the fight continues with a twist of severity. Together with her thoroughly devoted husband, Kent, they have raised their beautiful family. Through peaks and valleys, struggles and scares, they have held true to the promise and values of Christ Jesus.

The gift you give to this quiet-spirited warrior and her family will inspire a smile and liberate a sigh of relief.  If you only give once a month, please think of them next time.

Cancer is such a difficult and unpredictable road. When Taffy Wehe started her journey back in 2006 her youngest of four was only two years old and she had no idea how much of a fight she would have in front of her. She had no idea how many chemicals she would have pumped into her body, how many times she would lose her hair, how many surgeries she would endure, how many trial therapies, scans, and doctor appointments requiring trips from Dallas to Houston's MD Anderson.

Over the past fourteen years, she has endured multiple reoccurrences of a very hard to treat cancer (Myxoid Round Cell Liposarcoma) in many different parts of her body, always facing them with the most amazing courage, trust in Christ, praises to God on her lips, and all the while continuing to live, love, and laugh as she cares for those all around her.

She has been an incredible mother to four incredible kids, managing to get three into college, one married and one finishing high school. She has not let her cancer keep her from supporting them in all their activities and passions, even teaching them to drive. Her kids have been so understanding and loving back to her, helping any way they can. She's never let her cancer battles stop her from her purpose in life: loving God and loving others!

Her husband Kent has been such an example of unconditional love as he has been incredibly unselfish, intentional, and determined to be by her side. His primary desire is to care for his wife and family and love them well! The Wehe family has truly been an amazing example of God’s love for us and how He wants us to love each other!

After just a short break from chemo and promising scans this past December, they are facing a new battle. August scans showed a large tumor encasing her spine and pressing on her lungs. Within a matter of days, just after starting chemo again, she lost her ability to walk and was admitted to the hospital try higher doses of medications to  shrink the tumor.  Unfortunately the medication was not successful, and she required emergency surgery which we pray will remove the tumor and restore her ability to walk. All of this the week she was to be preparing her son prepare to move into his college dorm.

Taffy's journey has touched many of us. We invite everyone who has been touched by a Wehe to support them in this very practical way. Provide this family the luxury of focusing on supporting each other.  Thank you!
